Radiesse©, a product that is newly available in the U.S. and FDA approved for medical purposes, is also being used cosmetically to fill deep lines and creases. It is a creamy synthetic form of calcium hydroxyapatite and lasts up to 2 years longer than anything currently available. Unlike collagen, it does not require pre-testing and results are immediate.
Restylane© is a gel injected into the skin to enhance its appearance. It has been proven safe, very effective, and may last up to six months. No pre-testing is required because these substances contain no known allergen or animal proteins. Treatments produce immediate results.
Perlane© is made from non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid (NASHA) gel. This means that Perlane© contains no animal products. Since hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the skin and other tissue, there is no need for a skin test when using Perlane© filler.
The hyaluronic acid in Perlane© supplements the body's natural supply, which becomes depleted with age. Perlane© is biodegradable so its effects are not permanent. The results of a Perlane® filler treatment tend to last six months to a year.
